Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Payroll and Systems Leader based in Aberdeen. This has been released on a PAYE contract initally until the end of November 2026.
The post holder is responsible for the provision of payroll services across all UK Branches, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures and that regulatory requirements are met for operations linked to payroll. The payroll is directly linked to the Company HRIS, SuccessFactors.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
PAYROLL
- Lead and support the work activities of the payroll resources ensuring the timely delivery of payroll provision for all UK affiliates
- Responsible for the delivery of 5 domestic payrolls across the UK including statutory monthly and annual reporting to HMRC, Pensions and Benefit Providers including sign offs.
- Engage with key stakeholders across the UK to review and set out our payroll service provisions
- Responsible for data provision in relation to UK Gender Pay Gap for larger UK affiliates
- Ensure the external payroll bureau delivers accurate and timely payrolls across the UK
- Liaising with Group IS on any payroll system issues and implementing action plan
- Recommend and present to senior management on a strategy to improve current payroll system including potential tender of services, and implement as required
TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of payroll specialists.
- Streamline practices with the aim of improving work practices
- Foster close relationships with our client HRDs to deliver and support delivery of the multi energy roadmap in the UK
- Ensure teams remain up to date on best practices within our industry and foster links with peer organisations regarding their specialist subjects.
- Ensure team remain updated with all operational activities that may require specific support
- Ensure local policies and process remain aligned with Group practices and local legislation
- Ensure compliance and governance in respect of legislation and employment law
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Educated to degree level or extensive on the job experience within a large organisation in HR services
- Full CIPD membership or other professional qualification in Human Resource Management preferable
- Significant professional HR experience with exposure in a fast-paced service-oriented environment
- Exposure to HR Systems ideally from an implementation perspective, solid understanding of interdependencies and optimisation.
- SuccessFactors experience is advantageous
- Experience of stakeholder management

- Ability to manage multiple projects with a strong delivery focus
