Part-Time Logistics Accountant

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Part-Time Logistics Accountant, based in  Aberdeen’s West-End 3 days a week.
Ideally candidates will have experience of accounting for logistics operations eg helicopter and vessel activity and also have exposure to joint-venture projects.
 
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly accruals, journal entries and variance analysis for logistic costs.
  • Monitor and allocate third party invoices as part of the logistic cost allocation pool.
  • Track and account for fuel usage across supply bases, vessels, helicopters and offshore installations.
  • Provide monthly forecast data to the Operational Finance team, ensuring data is aligned with current business operations
  • Support the annual Multi Venture Audit for the logistic allocations
  • Maintain master data relevant to logistics accounting (vendors, cost centres, rates etc)
  • Assist in the annual budget process for all logistic costs across the organisation
  • Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts for vessels, helicopters and fuel.
Key Experience Required:
  • Previous experience in an Oil & Gas Operator environment preferred.
  • Familiar with joint venture accounting processes
  • Familiar with cost allocation methodologies (eg logistics)
  • Previous experience with SAP, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Key Qualifications, Competencies Required:
  • Ability to prioritise and work to monthly deadlines.
  • Flexible - capable of working on own initiative but also demonstrating great teamwork.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work cross functionally with onshore logistics team, vendors and finance team
  • Proactive in identifying discrepancies, improving processes and supporting cost efficiencies
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - to make sense of complex data, assess options and make sound recommendations.
  • Organisational skills - ensure all deliverables are fulfilled on time and of good quality.
