Our client is a North Sea Operator currently recruiting for the position of Operations Technician. This is a core staff role on a 2/3 rotation on a fixed platform in the North Sea. 
 
 
The successful candidate will bring strong experience operating as an area technician as well as experience as a Control Room Operator (CRO) and operate assigned production systems whilst carrying out area responsibilities as defined in the company management system.
 
Operations Technicians will provide a safe place of work within their areas and facilitate the safe completion of a range of activities, including maintenance, projects or TAR activities, in those areas.
 
Key tasks / responsibilities
Perform Safe Work-related roles as defined in company procedures with emphasis on area responsibilities and implementation of isolation/de-isolation,leak testing and safe return to service of plant equipment.
Carry out Emergency Response duties as identified in Emergency Response Plan, or as directed by the OIM.
Ensure a High level of awareness of Environmental compliance.
Carry out Safety Critical tasks in accordance with defined performance standards for SECE, identify and raise failures through the SAP work process including close out with accurate history.
Provide comprehensive records and logs, as well as ensuring that effective handovers are carried out.
Assist and work with specialised vendors who visit the platform, ensure that all tasks are completed correctly and safely.
Site Owner for a given area of the plant (Oil Process, Gas Process, Utilities) with a high level of personal responsibility to help drive availability, reliability and productivity within their area of accountability in a challenging offshore environment. 
Conduct regular reviews of process and equipment readings, looking for anomalies – checking valve position and outputs, temperature, level and pressure trends, reporting and addressing any anomalies as necessary (i.e. carrying out first line diagnostics and maintenance). 
Technicians are expected to have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
Technicians are expected to participate in Office visits on core key activities that will help drive an improvement in Safety, Productivity, Reliability, Availability or Turnaround performance.
 
Skills, experience & attributes:
Trade Qualification or appropriate experience in the Processing Operations: Hydrocarbons or equivalent. (NVQ Level 3 equivalent)
Experience working on Oil, Gas & Utilities systems.
Experience as a Control Room Operator is essential.
Experience in the design & application of isolations.
Competent in the use of SAP CMMS.
Possess the ability to handle occasional high workloads.
Ability to prioritise tasks whilst ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines requiring good communication and interpersonal skills, developing trust, respect and teamwork within and outwith operations department.
