Our client is a major international oil and gas operator, seeking an Operations Support Engineer to work on a long term contract basis at their Bacton site.
Purpose of the Role
The Operations Support Engineer plays a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by coordinating and driving core operational excellence and Effective Safety Performance (ESP) processes.
The role focuses on risk management, operational assurance, and continuous improvement, ensuring that plant risks are visible, controlled, and proactively managed.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in operations, process engineering, or plant support roles
- Strong understanding of risk management and process safety principles
- Experience with Management of Change (MOC) systems
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to track and drive actions to completion
- Experience in oil & gas, gas processing, or heavy industrial environments
- Knowledge of alarm management standards (e.g., EEMUA 191)
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience
- Familiarity with SAP or similar systems
