Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Operations Environmental Advisor based in Aberdeen. This role is office based Monday-Thursday with the option of home-working on a Friday. They also offer a compressed working schedule option (9-day fortnight).
Job Summary:
The Production Operations Environmental Advisor position reports directly to the Manager ESG & ER and forms part of the onshore based HSE&A core team.
The primary function of the role is to support the delivery of the environmental function across operations and environmental improvement programmes. The Environmental Advisor position maintains a degree of independence from direct asset/operational activities but is a key focal point to provide support and advice to the wider Environment and HSE Team to provide impartial support and challenge.
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Manager ESG & ER, fellow Environmental Advisors and the wider HSE&A and operational departments:
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and improve elements of the internal EMS.
Support Operations and the wider Environmental Team to ensure that relevant environmental permit and consent applications and returns are prepared and submitted as required.
Provide independent Subject Matter Advisor support to risk assessments, risk management, internal incident investigations, event management, and engineering Management of Change, and improvement projects.
Conducting offshore platform compliance visits and coordinate Regulatory inspection preparation, delivery and close out.
Compile, distribute and submit relevant environmental data and reports internally and externally.
Identify and deliver robust environmental communications to ensure that relevant environmental information and issues are effectively communicated and addressed.
Support and engage with offshore E-Reps.
Represent company through attendance at industry meetings, workshops and conferences.
Participate in Emergency Response team including exercises, drills, training, and rota.
Provide support and cover to the Manager ESG & ER, Environment and HSE Advisors as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:
Environment/STEM Related Degree and/or Min 1 year industry experience in an Environmental role
Audit Qualification
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - Exposure to these would be beneficial but not essential:
Experience working in the HSE field within UK Oil & Gas industry operations (producing assets, drilling, subsea, seismic) and/or projects (developments and decommissioning)
Development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems
Excellent knowledge of UKCS Offshore Environmental regulatory requirements
Audit and incident investigation experience
Strong communication, organisational and facilitation skills

- Environmental legal compliance through the delivery of sound technical advice to operations and active engagement of the regulatory bodies.
- Continual improvement of organisation Environmental performance through identification and leadership of improvement programmes.
- Support, challenge and advise the HSE and Environmental Advisors and Operations Team on environmental matters.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety - Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues. Acts as a role model for compliance with HSE&A Policy.
- Leadership - Undertakes the role in line with policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with Company’s values at all times. Sets a best practice example for the wider environment team for support of operations and improvement activities to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
- Financial - Carries out duties in a cost-efficient manner that maximises value and minimises waste and risk. Provides in-put into the planning and budgeting processes and raises potential budgetary issues as soon as they are identified.
- Technical/Functional –
- Provide support to operations and the wider organisation in the following manner: -
