Our client is a North Sea operator currently recruiting for the position of Operations & Maintenance Electrical Technician based offshore on a fixed platform. 
 
The successful candidate will bring strong production operations and maintenance execution experience whilst having Authorised Electrical Persons / Senior Authorised Electrical Persons / Responsible Person Electrical experience or demonstrate the capability to gain AEP and SAEP/RPE competence on the installation.
 
This O&M Technician role strengthens the commitment to enhancing ownership of maintenance delivery by developing flexible, multi-skilled technicians who support both Operations and Maintenance activities.
 
Key tasks / Responsibilities
 
Operations & Maintenance Delivery 
  • Conduct routine inspections, checks, autonomous care, and first-line maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and production threats, whilst improving availability / reliability.
  • Deliver safe planned / unplanned start-up, operations, & shutdowns of power, utility and process systems.
  • Monitor hydrocarbon production and Utility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting under challenging conditions.
  • Plan, prepare and execute corrective and preventive maintenance in line with schedules.
  • Use CMMS to manage maintenance activities and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Raise high quality notification work requests for equipment failures and corrective actions.
  • Plan and execute mechanical, process, HV/LV electrical isolations and proceduralised network switching operations, for maintenance activities.
 
Safety & Emergency Response  
  • Participate in the installation’s Emergency Response Team duties.
  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership in electrical, operations and maintenance spheres.
  • Understand and apply Safety & Environment Critical Element Performance Standards.
  • Participate and lead Permit to Work, Management of Change and Operational Risk Assessments.
  • As RPE, ensure Electrical Safety of the facility, maintaining compliance with Electrical Safety Rules, Procedures and Control of Work systems, whilst issuing Electrical Safety Documents.
 
skills, experience & attributes of Candidate
 
  • Trade Qualification or an HNC / appropriate experience in the Electrical discipline (equivalent NVQ level 3).
  • Previous AEP or RPE/SAEP experience (or proven capability to gain competence on asset).
  • Experienced Computerized Maintenance Management System user in the Maintenance Execution process.
  • Experience with HV/LV Power Generation & Distribution, Utility, and Hydrocarbon process systems.
  • Experienced in maintaining and operating HV/LV switchgear and protection relays, Load Management Systems, Electrical Control Systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, and hazardous area certified equipment.
  • Strong continuous improvement and learner mindset with experience in maintenance optimization and causal learning processes.
