Position:   Operational Readiness Manager

• Work Location: Gum Adasi, Baku, Azerbaijan

Schedule: 08:00 – 17:00 (Monday – Friday)

Transportation: Provided by the company via shuttle buses (to and from the office)

Key accountabilities:

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring environmental compliance and incident-free operations.
• Establish, build, and lead teams to deliver Operational Readiness objectives and embed operational excellence processes and practices.
• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Operational Readiness Plan aligned with project milestones and operational objectives.
• Ensure that all operational procedures, systems, training programs, and documentation are developed, implemented, and validated prior to handover, including maintenance strategies and plans, spare parts management, operating procedures, management systems, exception-based surveillance workflows, and control room operations.
• Support the development and implementation of revised operations and maintenance organizational structures.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of operations and maintenance personnel to ensure competence and readiness in line with project timelines.
• Prepare and present readiness assessments, progress updates, and recommendations for management.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project and operations teams.
• Encourage open communication, ethical behavior, and integrity throughout the organization.
• Champion diversity and inclusion within the projects and operations workforce.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical operations or engineering, including minimum 7 of leadership experience within operational, maintenance, project, or technical environments.
• Proven experience leading operational readiness programs for major capital projects in complex industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety, process safety, environmental management, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership, teamwork, and effective performance under pressure.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder coordination skills with contractors, peers, and management.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with evolving project dynamics.
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor personnel, influence organizational culture, and work effectively in diverse environments.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
