Our Oil & Gas Operator client is currently recruiting for the position of Operated Joint Ventures Accounting Manager for a 12 month Maternity cover role based in Aberdeen, starting asap
Based in West End Aberdeen
5 days per week in the Aberdeen office
What we are looking for:
Candidates should come from a senior financial analysis and reporting background, and have joint venture operated assets experience.
Operator experience is essential.

Responsibilities:
People/Team Management
- Provide leadership and direction to team members and ensure the full delivery of team and individual objectives.
- Manage the performance of team members e.g. conduct appraisals, identify training and development needs,
- Participate in recruitment, selection and induction processes
Operated Team Leader
- Single point of contact and hold overall responsibility for all consolidated financial Management Information for the Operated Assets
- Monthly consolidation of Operated Assets reforecast ensuring appropriate commentary is provided
- Work closely with Planning & Economics team to ensure Business plan data is provided in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure all Operated JV Budgets and associated AFEs are issued accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with the relevant JoA.
- Consolidate monthly Operated finance section for COO meeting
- Responsible for the coordination of risks and opportunities for all Operated Assets
- Responsible for the full compliance of the relevant accounting articles of the JoA’s.
- Responsible for the quality of the processes, controls and deliverables, performed by the Operated JV Finance Team, in line with company Accounting processes and guidelines
- Continually identify risks to delivery; propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations
- Participate in external and internal audits where required
- Ensure internal controls are operating effectively within the Operated JV team
- Oversee and sign off account reconciliations assigned to the position according to the agreed schedule and in compliance with SOX requirements and manage to conclusion any outstanding issues.
- Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices
Experience & Qualifications:
- Requires detailed technical knowledge of Exploration & Production accounting including Standard Operating Accounting Procedures in order to ensure asset expenditure is fair and equitable, company reimbursement is maximised, and JV audits are successful.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact at different levels across the organisation.
- Highly numerate problem solver accustomed to using their initiative to find solutions.
- SAP experience
- Experience in a similar position in the E&P sector and good understanding of E&P asset performance and activity
- Fully understand and interpret the significance of the financial data and provide insight and a full Business Partnering relationship to all key stakeholders
- Experience of managing a team of people
- Relevant Accountancy qualification
- Relevant experience in a similar financial position in the E&P sector with a good understanding of E&P asset performance
- Language: English required
