Staff Core role for a Senior Operations Technician (CRO)
2/3 on a North Sea fixed platform
This role is with an operator client

Responsibilities:
  • Perform the role of Control Room Operator on platform optimizing and managing the day to day production process including start-up, shutdown and responding to emergencies
  • Be a Site Owner for a given area of the plant (Oil Process, Gas Process, Utilities) with a high level of personal responsibility to help drive availability, reliability and productivity within their area of accountability in a challenging offshore environment. Conduct regular reviews of process and equipment readings, looking for anomalies – checking valve position and outputs, temperature, level and pressure trends, reporting and addressing any anomalies as necessary (i.e. carrying out first line diagnostics and maintenance). 
  • This role delivers plant and equipment isolation/reinstatement as required working alongside Operations and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Operations Technicians are expected to have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Operations Technicians are expected to participate in Office visits on core key activities that will help drive an improvement in Safety, Productivity, Reliability, Availability or Turnaround performance.
  • To train and develop others as detailed in Personnel Development Plan. Given the right skill sets the Senior Technicians (e.g. CRO) can deputise for the SSP.
 
Experience & Qualifications:
 
  • Demonstrated competence and experience as a Control Room Operator
  • Operations Technicians must demonstrate excellent safety leadership and behaviours, ensuring that company’s Health, Safety, Security & Environmental expectations are communicated, maintained and implemented.
  • To be fully conversant with all platform activities in order to be able to make on the spot decisions regarding conflicting activities and plant control.
  • Isolating and performing authority.
  • Actively participate in Safety auditing, WCC / ICC Audits and Near Miss Reporting.
  • Operations Technicians are expected to become involved with one or more of the following assessment processes: COSHH, Task Based Risk Assessment, Manual Handling.
  • Fully conversant and utilise with the content of the Platform Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Standing Instructions as necessary to safely execute work.
  • Gain awareness of the platform Safety Case and other relevant SMS documentation for the facility
  • Demonstrated experience as a CRO in emergency Response with the CRO leading the initial response.
  • Operations Technicians will carry out Emergency response duties under the instruction of the Emergency Team Leader as part of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Emergency response duties in accordance with the platform Station Bill.
  • Role -playing during emergency response training scenarios.
