Orion Group Life Sciences are currently recruiting a Metrology Specialist on behalf of our Multinational Biopharmaceutical Client based in Co. Meath on an initial 11-Month contract with potential to extend.

The Metrology Specialist will be responsible for managing the routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation across laboratory and manufacturing areas. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors, you will ensure instrumentation remains compliant with GMP, regulatory and data integrity requirements while supporting inspection readiness across the site.

About the Role
The Metrology Specialist will be responsible for managing the routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation across laboratory and manufacturing areas. Working closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors, you will ensure instrumentation remains compliant with GMP, regulatory and data integrity requirements while supporting inspection readiness across the site.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate routine maintenance and calibration activities for analytical instrumentation across laboratory and manufacturing areas.
• Oversee external vendors carrying out maintenance and calibration activities on site.
• Review and approve maintenance and calibration documentation generated by external service providers.
• Collaborate with laboratory teams, manufacturing, IT and site services to ensure calibration schedules are completed on time and in compliance with GMP, data integrity and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records within the site's calibration management system.
• Participate in deviations, CAPAs and change controls relating to instrumentation maintenance and calibration activities.
• Support inspection readiness by maintaining compliance for internal audits and regulatory inspections.
• Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with site procedures, GMP and quality standards.
What Skills & Experience You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will more than likely have:
- 3–5 years' experience within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting laboratory or manufacturing instrumentation maintenance and calibration activities.
• Understanding of change control requirements for validated systems and software.
• Experience supporting regulatory inspections and internal audits.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Engineering, Science or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Previous experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is highly desirable.
