Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Metering Technician.
Responsibilities will include:
Monitor metering system performance and data to minimise metering errors.
Routine planned maintenance (PM) to schedules and protocols, including onsite planning of the work to ensure these are carried out within the required timescales.
Completion of any corrective work identified during normal operations or whilst carrying out PM's.
Record and report mis-measurements to onshore support staff supplying pertinent data in an accurate and timely manner.
Record keeping of metering systems offshore, records to include the upkeep of; OGA/ Fiscal metering log books, Test equipment certification files: Instrument calibration records, Metering System drawings, Densitometer control charts and change outs, Turbine meter proving records and control charts.
Prioritise workload to ensure backlog is kept to a minimum.
Liaison with client representatives both onshore and offshore to identify and highlight any problem areas and any opportunities for improvements to the metering systems operation or efficiency.
Provision of a report for each trip detailing work carried out, particularly in areas of faults, corrective work and suggestive improvements, handover notes for back-to-back should also be provided.
Co-ordinate availability of spare parts and equipment required for repairs and change outs, schedule offshore repairs for metering equipment and test equipment to ensure continuity of service.
Assist auditors, vendors and other third parties during site visits.
Education
Essential
Extensive experience within the oil and gas industry specifically related to a metering discipline.
Ability to plan, co-ordinate and complete routine and non-routine metering/maintenance and calibration schedules.
Delivering against fixed and potentially conflicting deadlines.
Effective fault diagnosis, problem solving and implementation of remedial/ corrective actions.
Must have and maintain an in-depth knowledge of measurement equipment, applications and methodologies.
Computer literate in use MS and industry approved software packages.
Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
Current Offshore Medical Certificate.
ISSOW course.
MIST
Desirable
OND/HND/Degree in/or equivalent engineering or technical based discipline.
Experience
Significant experience with fiscal metering systems, in a similar position.
Conversant in fault-finding, calibration and testing of fiscal metering systems.
Offshore UK and FPSO experience is desirable but not essential.
