Join a rapidly growing engineering and manufacturing business as it continues to expand its operations in Houston.

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technician to join a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and play a key role in supporting production, equipment reliability and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded engineering professional who enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, solving problems, working with machinery and implementing practical improvements rather than being purely office-based.

The successful candidate will work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, sales and customer service teams, providing technical support and helping to improve equipment performance, quality, safety and efficiency.

The Role:

You will be involved in a broad range of hands-on engineering and manufacturing activities, including:
  • Supporting production teams with mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Installing, commissioning and troubleshooting wire cloth looms and associated manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnosing equipment issues and implementing solutions to reduce downtime
  • Supporting equipment reliability and preventive maintenance initiatives
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to machinery, processes and production efficiency
  • Working with PLCs, controls, sensors and automated systems as part of equipment troubleshooting
  • Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Supporting equipment startups, upgrades and modifications
  • Assisting with facility layout, equipment moves and manufacturing improvements
  • Supporting building improvement and construction projects
  • Investigating quality issues and supporting root-cause/corrective-action activities
  • Working cross-functionally with production, maintenance, engineering, sales and customer service
  • Sharing technical knowledge and best practices across the wider team
About You:

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, mechanically strong and enjoys solving problems.

You will ideally have:
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with PLCs and industrial controls
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems
  • Experience with machinery installation, commissioning or troubleshooting
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with quality control and root-cause problem solving
  • CAD experience would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across production, engineering and maintenance teams
Experience with wire cloth, weaving machinery, metal fabrication, industrial machinery, textiles, converting equipment or similar manufacturing environments would be highly relevant, although candidates with strong transferable mechanical manufacturing experience will also be considered.

Why Join?
  • Brand-new manufacturing facility
  • Join a rapidly growing company with significant expansion plans
  • Highly hands-on engineering position with genuine opportunity to make an impact
  • Work with modern manufacturing equipment and technology
  • Opportunity to influence process improvement, equipment reliability and facility development
  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Opportunity for long-term career growth as the business continues to expand
Location: Houston, Texas
Work Arrangement: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
