Job Description / Major Duties
(General job functions, responsibilities, day-to-day tasks & activities)
  • Lead condition monitoring activities within the maintenance team. Key responsibilities include:
    • Monitor Equipment Health: Use tools such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing to assess the condition of rotating and static equipment.
    • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance strategies to prevent failures based on data trends and equipment behaviour.
    • Fault Diagnosis: Identify early signs of wear, misalignment, imbalance, and other mechanical issues to minimize unplanned downtime.
    • Performance Testing: Conduct tests to ensure equipment operates within optimal parameters.
    • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions for compliance and future reference.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, rotating equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with reliability engineers, planners, and operations teams to align maintenance activities with production objectives.
  • Support shutdown planning and execution, including critical inspections and spare parts management.
  • Assist in shutdown and major maintenance preparation activities related to mechanical systems.
  • Provide input and support across engineering phases, including design, procurement, manufacturing, construction, inspection, testing, installation, commissioning, and start-up of facilities.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
Requirements
(Education, background, experience, skills)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo), vibration monitoring, precision alignment, and interpretation of mechanical drawings (e.g., P&IDs, schematics).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering and/or construction of large petrochemical, oil, or gas production facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance for industrial mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to use and interpret reports from precision measuring instruments and perform precision alignment across various equipment types.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and maintaining mechanical drawings including MFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, and other complex diagrams.
  • In-depth understanding of plant maintenance procedures and equipment diagnostics.
