About the Opportunity
We are advancing multiple large-scale green hydrogen projects across Europe, with a
focus on pioneering production facilities in Denmark. In readiness for key project
milestones and deliveries in 2026, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer
to join as Owner’s Engineer. This role will provide critical technical oversight on
mechanical systems for state-of-the-art green hydrogen production, ensuring high
standards of design, quality, and performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the European energy transition, working
on innovative projects that leverage renewable energy to produce green hydrogen at
scale. You will act as the client's technical representative, interfacing with EPCm
contractors, equipment vendors, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare technical specifications and data sheets for major mechanical
equipment, with a strong emphasis on hydrogen compressors (primarily
positive displacement/piston-type), pumps, and related systems.
• Participate in technical meetings and design reviews with major equipmentvendors.
• Review mechanical engineering deliverables and documentation from the EPCmcontractor.
• Review and provide technical input on documents from main equipmentsuppliers.
• Support coordination and interface management between equipment suppliersand the EPCm contractor.
• Conduct site visits to vendor facilities and participate in Factory AcceptanceTests (FATs).
• Provide technical support to the EPCm contractor during pre-commissioningand commissioning preparation activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in mechanical engineering within the energy, oil & gas,chemical/process, or hydrogen sectors.
• Specific expertise with high-pressure compression systems, particularly positivedisplacement (piston/reciprocal) compressors for hydrogen or similar gases.
• Familiarity with pumps, piping, valves, and other mechanical equipment inindustrial/process plants.
• Experience in technical specification development, vendor document review,and interface management.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO) for hydrogen applicationsand safety considerations.
• Prior role as Owner’s Engineer, technical authority, or similar oversight positionon large projects is highly advantageous.
• Willingness to travel for vendor visits, FATs, and site support.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Danish or other European languages aplus.
