Position: Mechanical & Welding NDT Inspector
Location: Fabrication Yard, Piacenza, Italy
Reporting to: Yard QC Superintendent
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical & Welding NDT Inspector to ensure all mechanical systems and welded joints meet project specifications, codes, and standards. The role involves performing and supervising inspections, overseeing NDT activities, and maintaining accurate documentation during fabrication, erection, and installation of mechanical and structural components.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical & Welding NDT Inspector to ensure all mechanical systems and welded joints meet project specifications, codes, and standards. The role involves performing and supervising inspections, overseeing NDT activities, and maintaining accurate documentation during fabrication, erection, and installation of mechanical and structural components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor welding activities to ensure compliance with WPS, PQRs, and WQTs.
- Inspect mechanical equipment, piping, supports, flanges, and structural assemblies for correct installation and alignment.
- Perform or supervise NDT methods including VT, RT, UT, MT, and PT.
- Review NDT results and coordinate evaluations.
- Prepare inspection reports, weld maps, NCRs, and QC documentation.
- Ensure adherence to codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, and ISO 9712.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- relevant experience on offshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and inspection techniques.
- Proficient in reading fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and welding symbols.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively in field and yard environments.
- Detail-oriented with strong reporting and communication skills.
- Proficient in inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, pit gauges, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
