Materials Controller

Our client are a growing global organisation who are leading the way towards a cleaner, more efficient, and secure energy future. They are built to become a world leader in smarter long duration energy storage, enabling nations, regions, cities, and corporations to achieve net zero. The LAES plant in Carrington is the first commercial scale plant in the UK. 

We are seeking a seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join their team on a 24-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials and inventory throughout the project, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of resources to meet project requirements.

How you will make an impact:
  • Develop and maintain materials management processes and systems, ensuring accurate tracking, storage, and distribution of project materials
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to forecast material requirements and ensure timely procurement and delivery
  • Monitor inventory levels, implementing inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize resources
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the efficient and cost-effective transport of materials to the project site
  • Maintain accurate records of materials transactions, including receipts, transfers, and returns
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to materials handling and storage
 
To be successful in the role:
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Materials Controller, preferably within the renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure sector
  • Strong knowledge of materials management methodologies and software tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to materials management and environmental responsibility
