Role Overview:
We are seeking a Material & Corrosion Prevention Engineer to provide technical expertise in material selection and corrosion control for oil and gas assets throughout design, construction, and operational phases. The role ensures asset integrity, regulatory compliance, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and select appropriate materials for process conditions, pressure, temperature, and corrosion exposure.
- Develop Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs) and Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs).
- Define corrosion mitigation strategies including coatings, linings, cathodic protection, and chemical inhibition.
- Review vendor documents, material certificates, and welding procedures.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and support QA/QC during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Analyze corrosion monitoring data, recommend corrective actions, and support risk-based inspection programs.
- Investigate material failures and perform root cause analysis.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Post-graduate experience in material and corrosion engineering.
- Offshore experience required.
- Strong knowledge of materials science, metallurgy, and corrosion mechanisms.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and using corrosion modeling software.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with report writing experience.
