Job Title: Marine Operations Superintendent
Location: Paramaribo, Suriname (mainly COMPANY offices), offshore assignments as required
Rotation: 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off, 7 days per week, 8 hours/day
Role Overview
The Marine Operations Superintendent will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all COMPANY offshore marine operations, including rig moves, mooring, anchor handling, and semi-mooring activities. Acting as the primary liaison between COMPANY, contractors, and internal stakeholders, the Superintendent ensures operations are safe, timely, and compliant with HSE rules, local regulations, and COMPANY standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-hire inspections of drilling rigs, PSVs, and AHTSs; issue action plans and monitor corrective actions.
  • Approve and monitor mooring arrangements, final mooring patterns, and anchor handling operations.
  • Plan and supervise marine operations, including soil pre-tests, semi-mooring deployment, and rig moves.
  • Validate crew certifications and experience, ensuring competency for marine operations.
  • Review, prepare, and maintain marine procedures, processes, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with COMPANY entities, contractors, and Marine Warranty Surveyors to optimize marine support.
  • Issue Notices to Mariners and ensure all vessels and equipment have required permits and authorizations.
  • Lead HSE initiatives onboard, enforce safety rules, conduct hazard hunts, and improve contractor safety culture.
  • Report regularly on marine operations, progress, and any operational issues.
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience in offshore marine operations, rig moves, and mooring supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of marine safety, HSE standards, and offshore regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate contractors effectively.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
