We currently have an opportunity for a Marine Lead based in Onshore -Qatar.
Position Tittle: Marine Lead
Work Location: Qatar onshore
Working Hours/day: 8-10Hrs /day
Working days/week:6days/week
Duration: 36 Months
Jop Purpose
All project Marine Units’ safety and quality assurance activities shall be stewarded and executed by the Marine Lead who will also function as a Project Marine Coordinator throughout the Marine Execution phase of the Project.
Key Job Accountabilities
Mobilization Phase
Ensure that the Vessel Suitability Survey is carried out diligently by the 3rd Party Marine Inspector (MWS) on time, verify findings are closed out promptly and effectively as per Company requirements. Ensure that all Marine Units have valid OVID inspection reports and findings are addressed effectively by the Owners.
Marine Lead functioning as Project Marine Coordinators is responsible to review and vet all the applicable MUA documents received from the EPC Contractor for their dedicated project prior submitting to OPCO Marine.
Review and provide SME input on marine related procedures and attend/contribute to the related Risk Screening /Formal Risk Assessment.
Execution Phase
Monitor Marine Unit Acceptance (MUA) Certificate validity and ensure that the inspections regime followed as per Marine Operations Procedure.
Manage the Periodical inspection process, as defined in the MOP (Housekeeping and Industrial Hygiene, Safety Walk, Safety and Quality Inspections).
Focal point for the marine unit Defect & Breakdown Management process.
Support and participate in Vessel Accident/ Incident Investigations related to Marine Units and maintaining marine compliance with Company incident reporting and investigation requirements.
Actively contribute to the weekly Marine Progress meeting with MPCMF.
De-Mobilization Phase
Focal point through the Marine Unit demobilization/ transfer process and initiate the Marine Unit Acceptance (MUA) close out.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in sciences, marine disciplines, or engineering or Diploma in marine or nautical disciplines, and STCW II/2, STCW III/2 Certification
Knowledge and Experience
8 years seagoing experience as a shipboard engineer or sea officer, including 1 years as Chief Engineer or Master
Experience in handling/ managing offshore marine units operating in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of oil and gas industry bodies, national and international maritime and shipping regulations.
Strong technical and operational marine knowledge.
Knowledgeable in International Maritime Regulations, Codes and Standards.
Broad knowledge of critical marine operations including offshore installation, construction vessels and barges, heavy lifts, transportation, pipe and cable lay, jack-up accommodation barges, and dive support vessels.
Experience within the Middle East region is advantageous.
Previous Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) and Marine Consultancy experience is advantageous (Preferably OVID accreditation).
