Our client is a major North Sea client who requires a STAFF Marine Control Room Operator based offshore on a 2/3 rotation.
As the Marine CRO you will be part of a dynamic and empowered team that delivers safe, reliable performance with a focus on asset integrity. Operations, maintenance and marine activities will be executed with a ‘one team’ mentality.
As the asset is an FPSO, there is a high focus on marine operations. We are looking for skilled personnel who can integrate marine systems into day-day operation activities. As the marine CRO, you will execute marine activities as well as being a key person in maintaining the FPSOs class status. It is expected that the Marine CRO will work towards production CRO skills to fully integrate the two teams, conducting cross-discipline activities within their competence and capability. This is an opportunity to further upskill your marine competence as well as gain knowledge and skills within the production operations space. More specifically, your role will include (but are not limited to)
- Assuming delegated authority for marine activities such as cargo loading and offloading and cargo utilities and maintenance in the absence of the Marine Co-Ordinator
- Undertaking safety 'walk rounds within your own area to identify areas of improvement.
- Follow cargo load/discharge plan and monitor FPSO stability and make any necessary adjustments, reporting any deficiencies to the Marine Co-Ordinator.
- Operate ballast system to ensure that the FPSO is maintained within safe operating parameters as per the class approved trim and stability booklet.
- Assisting with the preparation of reports as directed, including but not limited to maintaining the Deck Log Book and ensuring that proper records are kept particularly during, cargo, ballast, crude washing, inerting, gas freeing, and tank entry operations, as well as recording all activities associated with the cargo handling equipment, including all marine craft visiting the terminal and the sea and weather observations.
- Execute maintenance as per the maintenance execution plan
- Carry out fault finding and first line maintenance.
- Upskill their current competency profile to be able to execute cross discipline activities
- Work toward utilities, hydrocarbon, and production of CRO area competencies.
Furthermore, you will require to:
- International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) Officer of the Watch (OOW) (ideally with FPSO & Tanker experience) OR sufficient experience in a marine position on an FPSO. If candidate certificates have lapsed, but they have been in relevant positions within the marine sphere, this can be accepted.
- Embed & sustain a seafaring mentality across the Asset "Everyone cares for people & equipment" identifies and drives improvement opportunities.
- Actively promote and embed multi-skilling, enabling cradle to grave execution "one team".
- Implement the concept of Work process management and the application of AMS processes
- Champion the Learner Mindset using the 5 why process
- Able to operate all utility systems (including but not limited to: Compressed air, HVAC, Diesel systems etc)
- Actively participate in Safety auditing, Observation Cards, ECC/ICC Audits and Near Miss reporting
- Fully understand the COW WI and how to apply it on the FPSO
- Fully conversant and utilise with the content of the Platform Operating Procedures, Work Instructions as necessary to safely execute work
- Gain Awareness of the Platform Safety Case and fully understand your part in preventing MAH
- Be a part of the Emergency Response team
- Complete the CRO Production MME course within 6 months of starting position
- Support Development of Relief/Cross Training Production CROs in Marine FPSO/Tanker Operations
- Take charge of Mooring/Disconnection operations of Shuttle tankers in absence of Marine Coordinator
