Maintenance Manager

On behalf of our manufacturing client, we are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their team at the Inverness site. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all processes, systems, equipment, and personnel are effectively maintained and developed. The role focuses on driving asset improvement and reliability while ensuring full compliance with safety and legal standards.

Some of the key responsibilities within this role include:

• Ensuring maintenance and/or engineering activities are carried out in a safe manner in compliance with all relevant company health and safety legislation
• Leading a team to ensure all work is planned, scheduled, and completed in agreed timescales
• Continually reviewing and improving site operational effectiveness, project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction
• Manage, coach, and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives to deliver best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements
• Management and implementation of continuous improvement strategies and modern manufacturing principals
• Develop, implement, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for each area of responsibility and drive the principles of continuous improvement
• Ensure that designated buildings, plant, and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required
• Input and hold responsibility for maintenance budgets
• Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
• Produce written reports and make presentations
• Support maintenance team on the use of contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements

Qualifications/Experience (Essential):

• Time served engineer with an electrical/mechanical/electronic discipline
• BS degree (or Equivalent) in engineering discipline or suitable time served experience at Maintenance Manager level
• Industrial experience within manufacturing, engineering and procurement/supply chain
• Experience managing Profit and loss responsibilities for maintenance
• Self-assured and direct with the skills to challenge and influence at all levels of the business
• Safety conscious

Desirable:

• Membership of (or working towards) an appropriate professional body such as the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (nice to have)
• High voltage experience
• PLC knowledge
• Hydraulics knowledge
• Pneumatics knowledge
• Pressure vessels
• Thermal oil
