Orion is supporting a major LNG operating asset in Mozambique in the recruitment of a Maintenance Head of Methods & Engineering to join the Operations team.
This is a senior leadership position within the Maintenance organisation, responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, reliability and availability of plant equipment across LNG trains, subsea systems, utilities, offsite facilities, storage and loading systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the plant
  • Ensure safe and reliable operation of all equipment within scope
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to maintenance teams
  • Oversee root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Supervise mid- and long-term maintenance planning, including major overhauls
  • Ensure effective use of CMMS systems and maintenance reporting
  • Manage maintenance budgets (Opex & Capex) and control expenditure
  • Coordinate closely with Production and upstream operations
  • Lead and develop a large maintenance workforce, including national development
Technical Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of LNG / Oil & Gas maintenance operations
  • Extensive experience with industrial gas turbines (e.g. GE Frame 7, Siemens SGT800)
  • Experience with large rotating equipment (compressors, expanders, pumps)
  • Familiarity with international instrumented safety systems standards
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards including ATEX / Ex
  • Strong CMMS (e.g. SAP-based systems) experience
Qualifications & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Rotating, Instrumentation/Control or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 20 years maintenance experience within oil, gas or petrochemical industries
  • Minimum 10 years in senior maintenance leadership roles
  • Minimum 10 years experience in LNG producing plants (not LNG terminals)
  • Demonstrated leadership of large teams in operational environments
