Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Learning & Development Advisor based in Aberdeen. This has been released on a 12 month PAYE contract from our clients city centre offices.
Role overview:
Designs, delivers, and governs learning solutions that ensure workforce capability, regulatory compliance, and future skills development—while managing systems, suppliers, and learning operations end to end.
L&D Adviser is responsible for developing and delivering a strategic, safety-critical learning approach that supports both offshore and onshore personnel. The role ensures workforce capability aligns with regulatory requirements, operational excellence, and long-term business goals.
A key focus is managing and optimising external training providers and contracts, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of specialist training (e.g., offshore certifications, technical skills).
Working closely with operational leaders, HR, and other stakeholders, the L&D Adviser ensures learning interventions are aligned to business priorities, support workforce readiness, and enable sustainable growth.

- Collaborates across HR, business and external partners to deliver learning solutions
- Adapts to evolving processes and supports transformation of learning approach
- Provides clear, transparent guidance to employees and stakeholders
- Takes ownership of learning operations and service delivery
- Ensures compliance, accuracy and timely execution of training processes
- TSA Learning Agreement (Workday Learning)
- NIIT / 3T external training administration service
- Manage relationship with NIIT training administration provider
External Training Administration (NIIT / 3T)
Participate in regular service reviews to:
- Monitor service levels
- Resolve issues
- Identify improvement opportunities
- Secure training places
- Support demand planning
- Resolve access or delivery issues
- Act as Affiliation Manager within Workday Learning, including:
- Approval of training requests
- Oversight of enrolments and completions
- Validate monthly consumption reports and support invoice approval
Competence Assurance & Alignment
- Support the Technical Competence Alignment project, providing learning input to:
- Competence frameworks
- Learning system selection
- Maintain oversight of training requirements linked to competence frameworks
- Support development of future learning portfolio aligned to business needs
Skills, experience & attributes of candidate:
- Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent qualification/experience
- Experience in Learning & Development, HR Operations, or training coordination
- Knowledge of training administration processes and systems
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing external vendors or service providers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, evolving environment
- Strong data management and reporting capability
Desirable
- Experience with learning management systems
- Experience working with offshore or operational workforce environments
- Understanding of competence assurance frameworks and regulatory training requirements
- Experience supporting system and process transitions
