Lead Subsea Engineer - CSU & Operations - Major LNG Project

Great opportunity to work for a Supermajor E&P Company on a high profile Mozambique LNG Project on a 12 month renewable contract. The role will be Paris based for the Engineering phase, then Maputo (Mozambique) based with frequent mission to site and offshore.

The role will be responsible for subsea equipment operations (18 subsea wells) ensuring readiness and availability of the subsea asset. 

During Engineering phase:
  • Review engineering documents and make sure they are coherent and in line with Company expectations.
  • Contribute in the definition of main operating principles for Subsea facilities.
  • Review of operating manuals and Commissioning procedures
  • Provide assistance to other packages for their studies of/on the Subsea facilities.
  • Follows up fabrication of all Sub Sea equipment, and to attend FAT’s to ensure operability of all subsea equipment.
  • Develop subsea operating philosophy, principles, and operating procedures in coordination with production teams
  • Prepare the inspection, repair and maintenance (IMR) plan for all subsea equipment including trees and SCSSVs, flowlines, gathering manifolds, pipelines and all subsea control systems.
  • In charge of development of digital monitoring means and dashboards to follow the performance of the subsea equipment so as to identify potential failures, underperforming equipment, and to initiate the proper remedial action.
  • Responsible for the scope of subsea inspection and integrity works generated by MIE contractor including all necessary documentation, review all subsea related deliverables
  • Follow-up on the procurement and delivery of the subsea equipment, ROV tooling and required spares.
  • Participate in all HAZOP and engineering reviews
  • Focal point for engineering related matters to subsea equipment
  • Maintain contact with HQ subsea on innovation, REX, obsolescence, referential update topics.
  • Deliver subsea training of production staff and provide.
 
During Operation phase:
  • Ensure safety of personnel, environment protection, and the technical integrity of equipment’s in his domain of activities, implement HSE rules and follow procedures.
  • Ensure that Subsea equipment are operated withing their safe operating envelope under all conditions
  • Perform Troubleshooting activities in relation with subsea asset
  • Provide Support to site operations (panel operators and field operators, engineering room request…)
  • Report downgraded situations, NCR and mitigation measures in place to all stake holders and HQ
  • Coordinate the development of the Subsea SIMOPS dossiers
  • Participate in the near miss analyses, HAZOPs, technical reviews, risk assessment, safety audits, RCA, incidents and accidents analyses.
  • Provide daily technical assistance for the operations of subsea facilities and related onshore equipment (Hydraulic Power Units, Master Control System, Subsea Chemical Injection) to Site and Production teams.
  • In charge of Commissioning and start-up of subsea equipment including wells.
    • Witness testing of key pieces of equipment through FAT, eFAT and SAT
    • Coordinate equipment handover to/from Drilling team and EPCI.
    • To participate in the final hand-over activities (in particular offshore OTPs, punchlist, pre start-up activities…)
    • Develop and update subsea commissioning and start-up procedures
  • Control and monitor activities the subsea work package contracts with relevant contractors (Life of Field, Spare part management, Subsea Intervention, Control system, Digital Remote monitoring)
  • Perform daily monitoring of subsea equipment performance and functionality
  • Lead intervention campaign of the Subsea facilities using the site support vessel and ROVs to ensure integrity and availability of the asset.
  • Follow the subsea asset integrity management standards and ensure compliance, delivery and reporting including recording of leak tests, function tests and all downgraded situations and NCR.
  • Participate and provide technical input on subsea issues within the development of SIMOPS procedures and the PTW system.

Qualifications:
  • Subsea, Oil& Gas and relevant Engineering degree or equivalent with international standard and solid experience
Experience:
  • Minimum 15 years specific production experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry
  • Minimum 10 years specific to subsea equipment operations and subsea control system.
  • Excellent leadership
