Role Overview:

o The DO/EP Department consists of an engineering and projects team onshore, with responsibility continuing to offshore construction, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning.

o The missions for this position entail carrying out structural design calculations for structural modifications and verifications of existing structures, including offshore site surveys as and when required.

o Ensures safe, economic and technically sound structural engineering design and construction works to meet Company's requirements and international codes.


Ensures the development of Company structural engineering standards and guidelines for use in house in accordance with Company policies and specialised professional standards.

Provides studies and/or MEMOs on offshore engineering queries, including recommendations (such as Dropped Objects Studies, local structural strength verification, ...)

Promotes a design that maximises onshore fabrication and minimises offshore installation. Avoid welding where possible to eliminate or limit hot work during offshore installation.

Develops scopes of work for detailed design, onshore fabrication contractors, and offshore installation and hook-up (including any sequence or specific instructions on designs that avoid hot work).

Participates in the development of tender / enquiry documents for selection of engineering, supply, fabrication, hook Up and commissioning contractors and subsequent prequalification evaluation & bid/quotation evaluation.

Approves selection of equipment and materials for purchase.

Monitors all structural works performed by contractors and ensure that the projects are designed and constructed in compliance with quality requirements, approved drawings, specifications standards, and approved planning and resources.

Examines provisions made for equipment and machinery handling facilities and suggest any modification

Coordinates with other departments to ensure fitness for purpose of designed modifications and adequate scheduling

Specifically coordinates with offshore site & onshore logistic base teams on materials & personnel logistics related to structural works

Reviews all proposed contract changes and makes recommendation regarding approval or otherwise

Ensures departments supporting services are adequately and timely provided for in the execution of the projects construction works

** Office based position with requirements for frequent missions to offshore platforms, contractor yards in the UAE or potentially abroad.


 Minimum under graduate Mechanical / Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent

 Extensive experience in various projects related to oil and gas industry, in designing / calculation of various offshore structures and using various software's such as STAAD Pro & Sacs

 Good knowledge of CAD drafting

 Good knowledge in Word and Excel MS Office software

 Experience in interfacing with Operations and Contractors.

 Excellent written and communication in English

 Good interpersonal and communication skills.
