Lead Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Project Engineer to join a high-profile offshore oil & gas project team on a 12-month contract basis in London.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a major deepwater subsea development project, supporting project management activities and driving successful execution from an owner's perspective. Working within a small, highly skilled project team, you will support the Project Manager in coordinating project delivery, managing interfaces across multiple contractors, and ensuring project objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, and within budget.
You will also act as deputy to the Project Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the management and delivery of a major subsea project, integrating cost, schedule, risk, reporting, and document control activities.
- Coordinate project reporting, planning, and cost management processes.
- Develop scopes of work, review contractor proposals, and oversee contractor deliverables.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary engineering reviews, constructability workshops, and safety studies.
- Manage project interfaces, ensuring effective coordination between multiple contractors and stakeholders.
- Maintain and develop project risk management processes and registers.
- Ensure robust information management and document control practices are maintained.
- Provide regular updates and communications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and contractor performance.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong blend of technical engineering expertise and project delivery experience within the offshore oil & gas sector.
Essential Experience
- Degree-qualified in an engineering or relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in offshore oil & gas project engineering and project management.
- Experience working across multiple phases of the project lifecycle, ideally within deepwater developments.
- Previous experience working for an oil & gas operator.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, planning, cost management, risk management, reporting, and information management.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and complex stakeholder environments.
