The Lead Acquisition Field Representative provides technical and operational programme oversight for geophysical surveys conducted for the client

The Lead Acquisition Field Representative is the clients rep in the field. The LFR is authorised to verify contract conformance and will assist the contractor in fulfilling the technical and operational requirements of the seismic programme.

The LFR executes the project Oversight Plan and reports back to the client as detailed in the Plan, as well as providing major input to the Acquisition or Site Investigation Performance Scorecard.

This is a crew based rotational position

Reporting relationships

The LFR reports to the clients Gas Seismic Acquisition Project Manager. They may have subordinate Field Representatives reporting to them, including Positioning, HSE, Seismic QC and Processing Representatives.

Key activities, responsibilities and accountabilities

To fulfil these responsibilities the Acquisition Field Representative should:

  1. Read and understand the relevant parts of the applicable contract
  2. Monitor and report Contractor compliance with the contract terms and HSSE Bridging Document
  3. Monitor and report Contractor compliance with any prevailing regulatory Compliance Matrix and/or Environmental Commitments Register
  4. Promote awareness, understanding and achievement of JV's goals and expectations
  5. Promote an operating culture of open reporting and management feedback
  6. Promote continuous improvement and sharing lessons learned.
  7. Attend the Field Representatives' briefing/s in MoGO Stage 4.
  8. Attend the crew start-up orientation meeting.
  9. Review and fully understand contract, the Oversight Plan and the contractor's Execution, Quality and HSE Plans.
  10. Execute the project Oversight Plan in the field, including monitoring and reporting of crew performance, data quality, HSE and emerging issues, and provide reports to the Project Manager as directed.
  11. Fully comply with the client`s "Seismic and Survey Field Representative - HSE Leadership Standard", including requesting performance feedback at the end of the project from Contractor Party Chief and clients Gas Seismic Project Manager.
  12. Provide input to the Acquisition/Site Investigation Performance Scorecard.
  13. Provide a final report to the JV Gas Seismic Acquisition Project Manager within two weeks of completion of the survey
  14. Ensure quality control and specifications monitoring seismic data acquisition project by providing independent and objective survey supervision and to provide JV Gas with optimum survey results.
  15. Oversee the implementation of the agreed specifications and controlling the costs associated with the Project on the clients behalf and ensure that as far as practical, these specifications are maintained.

Expectations of Field Representatives team member

Members of Field Representatives Team shall do the following:

  1. Read and understand the relevant parts of the applicable contract
  2. Follow the survey Contractor's HSE management system and local HSE and administrative arrangements for living and working on a crew
  3. Follow the Contractor's arrangements for emergency response as required, including attending drills, debriefings and training events
  4. Be fully conversant with the clients Golden Rules of Safety
  5. Attend survey Contractor's daily toolbox meetings before work, and other meetings as appropriate
  6. Wear and/or use the PPE required by the survey Contractor for the work areas they enter
  7. Respect the right of any Contractor personnel to stop any Field Representative unsafe activities
  8. Take part in JV and survey Contractor review, auditing and other assurance programmes as set out in their project-specific briefing
  9. Report any instances of non-compliance by the survey Contractor

Note that this role may occasionally be covered by JV Gas employees, by Field Representatives or by Lead HSSE Representative


20+ years of seismic data acquisition and 5+ years on supervision roles, previous experience as Field Representative on onshore seismic acquisition projects is necessary.

Experience of managing and supervising large onshore seismic operations, simultaneous acquisition operations and leading multi-cultural teams

Experience of Land Seismic Acquisition in difficult areas, particularly experience with High Productivity Source Acquisition (ISS, DS3 or similar) and experience on Technical roles.


English, preferably French, Arab
