Orion Group Life Sciences are currently recruiting a Lab Technician (Days) on behalf of our Multinational Pharmaceutical client based in Carlow on an initial 11-month contract with strong potential to extend.

Role Overview
Support GMP laboratory operations by ensuring laboratory facilities, equipment, and consumables are maintained in a compliant, safe, and efficient manner. This role is essential in maintaining laboratory readiness through cleaning, inventory management, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform glassware washing, drying, and storage in accordance with GMP requirements
- Clean and sterilise laboratory equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain compliance and safety
- Carry out routine laboratory cleaning activities in line with approved procedures and schedules
- Maintain 5S standards across laboratory areas, including fridges and freezers, ensuring organisation and correct labelling
- Monitor and manage laboratory consumables and inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking
- Report inventory shortages, damaged, or expired materials to senior staff
- Ensure materials are stored under appropriate GMP-compliant conditions
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures, including correct PPE usage
- Dispose of laboratory waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) in line with regulatory requirements
- Accurately complete documentation and records in line with data integrity and GMP standards
- Support audit and inspection readiness by maintaining high laboratory standards
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding laboratory status, safety concerns, and inventory issues
- Collaborate within a GMP laboratory team to support daily operations

- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and compliance
- Good understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling
- Highly organised with the ability to manage routine tasks effectively
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Reliable and consistent approach to daily laboratory responsibilities
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a laboratory or GMP-regulated environment (desirable)
- Familiarity with laboratory housekeeping, cleaning procedures, or inventory management
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in a lab setting
- Relevant scientific or technical background is advantageous (training will be provided)
