Laboratory Technician I, CMC Biologics Drug Product Development
Onsite in North Chicago, IL
Hourly Pay Rate: $20
PART TIME - 5 days/week, 4 hours/day preferably in the mornings (around 8am-12pm)
Laboratory Technician, CMC Biologics Drug Product Development - The Biologics Drug Product Development group develops antibody drug conjugates (ADC) and other biologics by state-of-the-art formulation and analytical technologies. We create valuable intellectual property through new formulation compositions and prepare and defend CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control) regulatory content.
We are looking for a person to support laboratory activities, preparing and keeping it ready for experiments while following proper laboratory safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma with STEM background and 1-3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting like during a college chemistry or biology class
• AS with 1-3 years of experience
• BS in scientific field with no experience
Key Responsibilities:
• General housekeeping of laboratory: supplies, chemical reagents, and lab equipment.
• Prepare buffers and solution for use in the laboratory.
• Follow proper safety protocols which includes, but not limited to wearing personal protective equipment, and the proper disposal of biohazard and/or chemical waste.
Key competencies:
• Experience in wet bench lab preferred (can be from school) - pH meter, analytical balance, micropipettes, volumetric measurements, mathematical calculations, unit conversions, etc
• Be able to work in a scientific laboratory setting with a strong attention to details, safety, cleanliness, and organization.
• Be able to work independently and follow directions.
• Possess good communication and documentation skills.
• Be able to lift weights and work with hazardous chemicals.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
