Orion Group are looking for a Lab Technician for our multinational medical devices client based in the Lancashire area on an initial 4-month contract with the potential to extend.


Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Raw material and product chemical, bioburden and endotoxin testing
  • Performing environmental monitoring, documenting and trending results
  • Performing and reporting all microbiological testing and reporting
  • Laboratory equipment qualification/calibration
  • Supporting media fill/aseptic processing validation
  • Sterilisation validation
  • Method validation
  • Ensure that laboratory practices and documentation meet the current requirements of GMP/GLP
  • Sample dispatch to contract laboratories and review of reports received
  • Prepare and maintain microbiology and chemistry methods, specifications and SOP's in compliance to pharmacopoeial and regulatory requirements

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • 3rd Level Science Qualification (Microbiology or Industrial Biology/Biochemistry /Biological Science preferred)
  • Multiple years industrial experience (GMP regulated environment preferable)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good level of technical and analytical expertise to assist in problem solving
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Result driven
  • Excellent social skills
  • Team player
  • Able and willing to work in a complex organization with highly detailed rules and regulations
  • Computer literate
