Location: 100% onsite - Lake County, Illinois (local candidates only)
Length of Assignment: 1 year, with possible extension
Pay Rate: $25-28/hr (depending on candidate’s medical benefit preferences)

Job Description:
The Bioanalytical group is seeking an experienced Bioanalytical Scientist/Lab Technician to perform routine and non-routine analysis and formulation work. The role supports laboratory testing, data review, experimental troubleshooting, and project-team activities in a regulated laboratory environment.

• Work with project leads on projects of varying complexity, performing routine and non-routine analyses and generating reliable, consistent results.
• Conduct bioanalytical and physical testing, which may include SEC, CEX, HIC, and RP-HPLC; Karl Fischer testing; UV, IR, and fluorescence spectroscopy; color and clarity evaluations; pH, viscosity, and density measurements; and visible and sub-visible particle testing.
• Analyze and interpret bioanalytical data and communicate findings to project teams.
• Troubleshoot experiments and laboratory instrumentation.
• Perform routine testing and document experiments in an electronic laboratory notebook (eLN).
• Learn and apply new experimental techniques as needed.
• Support general laboratory maintenance and upkeep.
• Follow all applicable company policies, standard operating procedures, cGMP requirements, and safety practices while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory area.

Qualifications:

I. Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, molecular biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• General science background; chemistry or biology preferred.
• Hands-on general laboratory skills, including pipetting, weighing, and solution preparation.
• Experience with bioanalytical methods.
• Hands-on HPLC experience; pharmaceutical-industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience using Empower chromatography data software.
• Theoretical and practical scientific knowledge sufficient to perform the job responsibilities.

II. Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with particle sizing and particle-testing techniques.
• Experience with force testing, UV/IR/fluorescence spectroscopy, and basic sampling practices.
• Experience with pH measurement and other routine physical testing techniques.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting bioanalytical data and working with project teams.

III. Work Environment and Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, eight hours per day.
• 100% onsite in a GLP laboratory environment.
• Approximately 80% laboratory activities and 20% stationary/documentation activities.
• Works directly with one supervisor and may interface with multiple members of the technical team.
• No travel required.
