Project Manager – Material Review, Marketing Operations
Location: Lake County, IL (No relocation; local candidates only)
Pay Rate: $85-89/HR, depending on benefits
Assignment Length: Through January 4, 2028
 
Role Overview
Orion Group is hiring a Project Manager, Material Review – Marketing Operations who will be responsible for managing the end-to-end review and approval of U.S. Commercial advertising and promotional materials through the Material Review Process (MRP) for our pharmaceutical client in Lake County, IL. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant execution of promotional and non-promotional materials in alignment with regulatory and internal policies.
This individual will serve as a central point of coordination between Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Commercial teams, and external agencies while providing tactical oversight, training, and communication throughout the review lifecycle.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate cross-functional review and approval of:
    • Advertising materials
    • Promotional materials
    • Sales training materials
    • Promotional labeling materials
  • Manage workflows and timelines for materials progressing through the U.S. Commercial MRP
  • Coordinate and communicate material status with internal stakeholders and advertising agencies
  • Provide tactical project management support and ensure adherence to review milestones
  • Support and train team members responsible for uploading, reviewing, and approving materials within MRP systems
  • Ensure timely and compliant review across Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, and other key stakeholders
  • Identify process improvements and apply lessons learned to enhance review efficiency
  • Support data tracking, reporting, and measurement related to material review performance
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Science, Education, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Pharmaceutical or regulated industry experience
  • Working knowledge of the MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review process
  • Experience supporting marketing, communications, or advertising initiatives
  • Familiarity with both print and digital promotional formats
  • Exposure to review systems such as Veeva PromoMats or similar platforms
  • Proficiency with:
    • Adobe Acrobat
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Smartsheet
    • Veeva PromoMats
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to additional systems and tools as required

  • Comfortable working with data, metrics, and performance measurement
