Orion Groups pharmaceutical client in North Chicago has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Recruiter to support the Operations division, specifically within PDS&T (Product Development, Science and Technology). This position plays a key role in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to support critical scientific and operational needs.
The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to serve as a trusted strategic partner to hiring managers and business leaders. A baseline understanding of scientific terminology (e.g., related to lab and principal research scientists) is helpful for success in this position.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for Operations/PDS&T roles.
- Partner with hiring leaders and HR to develop and execute sourcing strategies.
- Build and maintain qualified talent pipelines for current and future needs.
- Manage requisitions, update applicant tracking systems (Taleo), and achieve recruiting metrics.
- Conduct pre-screening, interviews, and candidate management throughout the hiring process.
- Prepare and approve offer packages; provide equity and market competitiveness insights.
- Ensure compliance with state/federal employment laws and company policies.
- Communicate market trends, analytics, and talent insights to leaders.
- Establish strong business partnerships with hiring managers and serve as a strategic talent advisor.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3–5+ years of recruitment experience in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
- Demonstrated proactive sourcing and recruiting skills.
- Strong business presence with ability to influence and instill confidence in stakeholders.
- Prior healthcare/pharmaceutical industry recruitment experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with SmartRecruiters and/or Workday ATS preferred.
- Proactive Communication – effectively engage with candidates, hiring leaders, and HR.
- Attention to Detail – manage multiple roles, candidates, and compliance requirements accurately.
- Strategic Talent Advisory – anticipate future talent needs and provide recommendations.
