An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Jetty Supervisor to support the logistics operations of a major offshore oil & gas development in Suriname.

This role is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant management of quayside and marine logistics activities supporting drilling, development and production operations. You will coordinate vessel movements, cargo handling and lifting activities while ensuring the highest standards of operational performance and HSE compliance.

This position would suit someone with significant experience supervising busy offshore supply bases, marine terminals or logistics facilities supporting offshore exploration and production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day quay, jetty and wharf operations supporting offshore activities.
  • Coordinate vessel berthing, loading, unloading and backloading operations.
  • Act as the focal point for all marine logistics movements at the logistics base.
  • Liaise closely with vessel Masters, logistics teams and third-party contractors to ensure efficient operations.
  • Coordinate simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) across the quayside.
  • Plan and manage berth utilisation and vessel scheduling.
  • Ensure cargo is prepared, secured and transported in accordance with international maritime regulations.
  • Verify manifests, dangerous goods documentation, lifting certificates and shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate riggers, banksmen, stevedores and lifting equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all cargo and material movements.
  • Lead operational meetings before and after vessel operations to improve performance and capture lessons learned.
Health, Safety & Environment

Safety is fundamental to this position. Responsibilities include:
  • Promoting a strong safety culture across all marine logistics activities.
  • Conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Ensuring compliance with lifting procedures and material handling standards.
  • Monitoring hazardous materials storage and waste management.
  • Participating in Permit to Work activities where required.
  • Supporting emergency response drills including bunkering incidents and Man Overboard exercises.
  • Stopping any unsafe activity where an immediate risk exists.
Experience Required

Applicants should ideally have:
  • Extensive experience supervising marine logistics, quayside or jetty operations within the offshore oil & gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of offshore supply vessel operations.
  • Experience coordinating offshore logistics bases supporting drilling or production campaigns.
  • Knowledge of lifting operations, cargo management and marine logistics.
  • Experience managing simultaneous operations (SIMOPS).
  • Familiarity with IMDG and IMO regulations.
  • Strong understanding of HSE management systems and Permit to Work processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and stakeholders in a fast-paced operational environment.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting major offshore development projects.
  • Marine logistics or port operations background.
  • Lifting Operations knowledge or APLO/Lifting Management System experience.
  • Previous experience working in remote international locations.
