THE OPPORTUNITY – IT LEAD
 
The Information Technology (IT) Lead is responsible for the overall delivery and performance of a broad IT estate encompassing infrastructure, external Microsoft services, networks, telephony and end user computing, along with associated services.  The role is responsible for technical and commercial oversight, governance, assurance and outsourced service management and is expected to be hands-on with the day-to-day direction of outsourced resources and decision making relating to key run and change activity.

Spirit Energy currently have a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers. 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.  
 
AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…
In role, you will be required to:
 
  • Maintain (cross-discipline) IT processes, procedures and work instructions (and drive compliance)
  • Determine / oversee / maintain fit-for-purpose scalable and resilient integrated IT architecture, ensuring reliability, security, integrity and performance of the estate
  • Act as IT focal point for (cross-discipline) IS / IT / Cyber / Deloitte audits and external reviews
  • Manage all third party IT vendors, relationships and commercial agreements
  • Classify, assess and assure third party / cloud / SaaS IT services
  • Execute IT-related control assurance attestations
  • Undertake contract renewals / tenders in collaboration with Head of IS and the Supply Chain function
  • Maintain secure password management (rotation, vault storage etc.)
  • Manage Source-to-Pay processes for IT (in collaboration with team, business owners, Supply Chain and Finance)
  • Project Manage / Deliver IT projects (upgrades, changes, replacements, implementations etc.), drawing on outsourced support
  • Co-ordinate Test / UAT cycles
  • Collaborate with the Head of IS and the IS Apps Lead to evolve cyber control framework of Manage, Protect, Detect and Respond capability / controls, with ongoing maturity assessments
  • Conduct security due diligence assessments on any new / changed IS services impacting the business
  • Undertake phishing simulations, analysis and embedding of learnings, drawing on outsourced support
  • Arrange / oversee external penetration testing and ensure findings are captured and actioned
  • Oversee administration of security toolset (e.g. SIEM, NAC, MS Defender, Cryptospyke etc.), drawing on outsourced support
  • Conduct Cyber Incident Response testing
  • Manage licensing, consumption and renewals for all IT services, radio licences and domain registrations
  • Maintain IT build / support documentation (including Service Catalogue), drawing on outsourced providers
  • Set and oversee administration of security protocols (e.g. cryptography, encryption, MFA), drawing on outsourced support
  • Handle vulnerability management / patching (identification through to execution), drawing on outsourced support
  • Support cyber incident response / investigations
  • Support IS Apps Lead in overseeing hosting of external / SaaS LoB apps and associated integrations
  • Handle IT change / upgrade / release management
  • Handle major IT incident response, liaising with service providers as required
  • Manage outsourced IT support contract performance / resources, directing and supervising as required
  • Maintain Barrow server room (drawing on Facilities team)
  • Build Disaster Recovery arrangements, plan and execute testing, drawing on outsourced support
  • Retire / decommission end-of-life IS services, drawing on outsourced support
  • Provide user support for IT (incident / problem management / request fulfilment / access management), drawing on outsourced support
  • Any other associated duties as reasonably required
 
 
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
 
  • Strong overall understanding of IT (infrastructure, networks, telephony, end user computing and associated services in a technical multi-site organisation
  • Appreciation of applications and business use cases / criticality
  • Solid understanding of MS365, Azure and PowerApps / PowerBI
  • Deep and disciplined understanding and ability to operate core IT General Controls
  • Ability to develop and maintain procedural, technical and architectural documentation and maintain a Service Catalogue
  • Knowledge of service licensing models and consumption analysis
  • Commercial skills to manage scope, specification and cost relating to IT services
  • Ability to interface with audit teams, acting as the bridge between outsourced delivery teams and auditors
  • Strong working knowledge of disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Solid understanding of key processes including incident, problem and change management as well as PMO processes for project delivery.
  • Effective contract management skills, with the ability to manage outsourced service providers and to connect vendors and navigate interfaces
  • Ability to co-ordinate and execute) IT service testing
  • Strong appreciation for cyber security and the Cyber Assessment Framework, covering Managing Security Risk, Protecting against Cyber Attacks, Detecting Cyber Security Incidents and Minimising Impact of Security Incidents
  • Good knowledge of security protocols, tools and practices
  • Ability to handle escalations, lead on significant incident response and manage outsourced resources as required
  • Batchelor's Degree in an IT / business discipline (or equivalent experience)
