Job Profile:
Provides safe, successful, timely and economical Instrumentation and Control and Analytical Equipment Maintenance and Repair and Technical Support Services to other sections within Maintenance, Refining, Engineering and Administrative divisions.

Job Summary:
* Determine and select appropriate strategies for the maintenance of Instrumentation and control Equipment to ensure design availability and integrity is maintained at optimum cost.
* Ensures preparation of procedures to guide staff on correct implementation of the defined strategies.
* Effectively lead the Instrument Maintenance Section team to implement the defined strategies and procedures in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner.
* Determine training requirements and provide the necessary training opportunities to Instrument Maintenance Section staff to ensure that the competence of individuals meets the requirements of their jobs.
* Communicate extensively with other Company Departments and external agencies by soliciting and giving advice, assistance and information.
* Provides a 24 hour, 7 days/week Emergency Response service with respect to Instrumentation and Control equipment and participates in the Company's Fire and Major Incident Procedures.
* Liaises with Process Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Project Teams and Owner Departments to ensure effective commissioning and maintenance of new project Instrumentation and Control Equipment.
* Plays a key role in provision of QA Calibration Services to Owner Departments and is subject to external audit in this respect.
* Provides maintenance and repair services for Office Equipment and fire alarm systems within Bapco.
* Initiates, leads or participates as required in failure investigations in accordance with the Company Investigation Procedures.
* Plays a leading role in implementation of the Company Safety Policies.
Job Requirements:
* BSc Degree Instrumentation and Control or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum of 12 years' experience in the hydrocarbon or petrochemical industry, at least 5 years of this in a senior supervisory capacity with maintenance of Instrumentation and Control equipment.
* A good appreciation of Instrumentation and Control Engineering design and sound theoretical and practical knowledge of Engineering principles.
* A proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of competent and motivated Instrument Engineers, Technician-Engineers and Technicians and to function as part of a multi-crafted maintenance team drawn from Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
* Fully familiar with maintenance of Instrumentation and Control Equipment in Hazardous Areas.
