About the Project This is a flagship onshore oil and gas development in Uganda and the first major petroleum investment for the operator in the country. The project scope covers:
- 31 well pads and an upstream gathering network (flowlines & trunklines).
- ~170 km of buried pipelines (oil, water injection, electrical, fibre optic), including a Nile River crossing.
- A Central Processing Facility (200,000 bopd oil, 650,000 bwpd water treatment).
- Reservoir pressure maintenance via water and polymer injection.
- Lake Water Abstraction station.
- Access roads, upgraded Bugungu airstrip, and support bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all Instrumentation works on site, ensuring full compliance with Company specifications, standards, and procedures.
- Support installation, testing, calibration, and pre-commissioning of Instrument systems and equipment.
- Act as primary supervisor for a defined construction area, ensuring alignment with the Level 3 schedule.
- Interface with construction contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and QA/QC teams to ensure quality and progress.
- Conduct site visits, monitor productivity and work quality, and escalate risks that may impact delivery.
- Oversee vendor and subcontractor activities related to Instrumentation pre-commissioning and commissioning.
- Ensure ICAPS documentation is correctly populated, validated, and aligned with GS EP EXP requirements.
- Contribute to daily/weekly/monthly reporting, coordination meetings, and HSE compliance enforcement.
- Promote strong HSE culture and environmental protection throughout all site activities.
- Minimum 12 years’ Oil & Gas / Petrochemical construction experience, with expertise in Instrumentation on large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and hazardous area installations.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical installations and commissioning interfaces.
- Familiarity with specifications (GS EP EXP 101/103/105) highly desirable.
- Previous work with IOCs/major contractors preferred.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and interpersonal skills in multicultural teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ICAPS..
