Instrument Engineer - CPF (I&C)
Location: Leatherhead, United Kingdom (Residential)
Duration: 12 months, with possible extension
Travel: Iraq – approximately 2 weeks per year

We are currently seeking an experienced CPF Instrument Engineer (I&C) to support the engineering and delivery of a major oil & gas processing facilities package.
This position is ideal for a technically strong Instrument Engineer with EPC experience who can oversee contractor engineering activities, ensure compliance with project standards, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a complex international environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee Instrument & Control (I&C) engineering activities and support the I&C Engineering Lead in delivering the package successfully.
  • Review contractor design for field instrumentation and indoor/outdoor layouts.
  • Monitor EPC contractor engineering performance to ensure compliance with scope, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Manage technical queries, deviation requests and proposed engineering alternatives.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure alignment and consistency across deliverables.
  • Support engineering reviews, project milestones and readiness reviews.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor clarification processes.
  • Review vendor documentation and support resolution of technical issues during fabrication, testing and delivery.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL and SIF workshops as required.
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) when applicable.
  • Support design change management, ensuring all modifications are properly reviewed and communicated.
  • Identify technical risks and implement mitigation plans.
  • Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with project HSE, technical specifications and international engineering standards.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Instrument & Control engineering within large-scale oil & gas projects.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior or lead engineering role on EPC projects.
  • Proven experience working with EPC contractors and vendors in multicultural project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards including IEC, ISA and ISO.
  • Experience with instrumentation databases and engineering tools such as SPI / INTOOLS or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer certification is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Arabic language skills are considered a plus.
