Orion Group is seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of engaging learning solutions for our multinational pharmaceutical client.
This individual will partner closely with subject matter experts, leadership teams, and learning stakeholders to assess organizational training needs and develop impactful learning interventions across multiple modalities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong instructional design expertise, creativity, project leadership capabilities, and experience developing training content for complex business environments.

Responsibilities
- Conduct organizational training and education needs assessments
• Design, develop, and implement engaging learning solutions using multiple learning modalities
• Apply advanced instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE or similar frameworks
• Create effective intervention strategies that improve individual and organizational performance
• Develop curricula, training materials, job aids, assessments, and performance support tools
• Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning objectives and business outcomes
• Evaluate and measure training effectiveness and impact on job performance
• Establish standards for training development and performance assessment
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and team interventions as needed
• Lead instructional design and learning projects from initiation through completion
• Recommend innovative learning technologies, approaches, and creative solutions to address training challenges
• Support benchmarking initiatives, internal audits, and continuous improvement efforts
• Collaborate cross-functionally with managers and leadership teams to support performance improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of instructional design, training, or related experience
• Strong experience working within healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries preferred
• Advanced knowledge of instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE
• Experience designing content across multiple learning modalities including eLearning, instructor-led training, virtual learning, and blended learning environments
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities
• Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Expertise with rapid instructional development tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise
• Experience using Vyond, Canva, and video editing software
• Graphic design and illustration experience preferred
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools
- Instructional Design certification preferred
• Continuous learning and development within the instructional design field strongly preferred
• Pharmacovigilance or pharmaceutical safety training experience is a plus
• Experience supporting training initiatives in regulated environments preferred
