Inspection Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Manager SI & SQ

LOCATION: Houston, TX


II. POSITION SUMMARY

  • The position is responsible for supporting the source inspection team in Houston office, facilitating the inspection process, including issue resolution of inspection findings, in support of domestic and overseas projects. Work closely with specifying engineers, project team and procurement center to monitor & continuously improve supplier performance to drive toward no defects on delivered material
  • The position shall familiar with the inspection work process and making use of the work process during the steps of inspection work, familiar with the requirements, local and international standards/codes stipulated in AP Spec and applying the requirements in daily inspection work correctly
  • The position shall provide concerning feedback to project in time and cooperating with project, function and expediting team/sourcing team to deal with quality issues at the first time
  • The position shall manage inspection report in time after each inspection trip, reporting NCR issues and punch items found during the inspection visit, tracking, and recording vendor's correction for issue resolution
  • The position shall raise the quality issues and summarizing lesson learned from previous projects during daily inspection work and pre-inspection meeting for vendor performance improvement
  • Supporting project execution activities. Share experiences / best practices with team members


III. NATURE AND SCOPE

  • Responsible to ensure the 3rd party inspectors undertake the quality control on the ordered pressure equipment at vendor's workshop during product manufacturing to ensure consistent quality, complying with all code, standard and AP specification requirements.
  • Responsible to manage the 3rd party inspectors of material certificates review and track, welding and dimension inspection, cleanliness inspection and witness testing, performing final inspection of pressure equipment as defined and specified as the inspection point outlined in the ITP

IV. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Understanding of the Source Inspection work processes
  • Coordination inspection arrangement between inspection and supplier for hold/witness points specified in ITP. Check with supplier on realistic production status and preparation work prior to inspection activity, avoid ineffective inspection man hour happen
  • Input ITP/QCP items into system timely to finish the preparation before any inspection activity
  • Understand inspection requirements defined in Specifications
  • Provide effective inspection service including timely reporting and support to each domestic and overseas project
  • Closely work with project, function team and timely communicate with or report to the project or function engineers and supervisor once key quality issues found during the inspection activities
  • Participate with global quality communication and learn/share helpful experience
  • Report NCR issues, and track NCR, Punch list timely
  • Continuously push local vendor to understand/meet our requirements based on effective communication with function team

  • Good command of written and spoken English

VI Qualifications
  • Over 8 years of working experience as a quality engineer/inspector
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline,
  • Certifications in welding inspections, NDE (LP, MP, UT, RT) desirable
