Job Title: Industrial Hygiene Engineer

Location: Doha, Qatar

Work Type: Full-time, with regular offshore visits to production platforms, storage and offloading vessels, drilling rigs, and accommodation barges.

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Hygiene Engineer to support the effective management of workplace health risks across diverse offshore and onshore environments. This role provides an opportunity to lead critical industrial hygiene initiatives, contribute to risk prevention strategies, and mentor developing professionals within the team.
Reporting to the Lead Industrial Hygiene and the Health & Industrial Hygiene Manager, you will play a central role in steering exposure assessment programs, enhancing control measures, and ensuring robust industrial hygiene practices.

Key Responsibilities
Accountabilities

  • Lead the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) project.
  • Plan and execute workplace exposure assessments covering chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
  • Support the development and implementation of integrated industrial hygiene risk management strategies.
  • Mentor and train the Associate/Developee Industrial Hygiene Engineer.
Activities
  • Evaluate the control and management of hazardous substances across operations.
  • Recommend improvements to hazardous substance measurement and reporting (including BTEX and H₂S).
  • Conduct hazardous substance measurement surveys on offshore storage and offloading sites.
  • Review and update Industrial Hygiene Risk Assessment Files (IHRAF) for offshore sites, incorporating qualitative and quantitative monitoring.
  • Develop IHRAF documentation for the corporate headquarters.
  • Conduct noise surveys, noise dosimetry, and heat stress assessments.
  • Deliver awareness sessions related to hazardous substances.
  • Perform Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessments for offices and accommodations.
  • Lead vibration risk assessments and propose practical improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments as required by daily duties.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Requirements
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist, or holder of an Engineering degree or Bachelor's in a science discipline.
  • Prior experience in industrial hygiene risk assessment or management, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and offshore operational environments.
  • Highly motivated, organized, and an effective communicator.
  • Proficient in English with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
  • Experience using Photoionization Detectors (PID) and/or gas chromatograph monitoring; strong understanding of gas detection technologies, limitations, and sensor poisoning.
  • Familiarity with Class 1 sound level meters and WBGT meters.
  • Medically fit to work in offshore environments.
