About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead (Hydrographic) to lead and coordinate all hydrographic and survey engineering activities for major nearshore dredging, reclamation, and offshore development projects.
This role is critical in ensuring the accurate acquisition, processing, and interpretation of bathymetric, geophysical, and geospatial data to support project design, installation, and operations.
You will act as the focal point for all survey-related matters, providing technical leadership and ensuring activities are executed in line with project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead (Hydrographic) to lead and coordinate all hydrographic and survey engineering activities for major nearshore dredging, reclamation, and offshore development projects.
This role is critical in ensuring the accurate acquisition, processing, and interpretation of bathymetric, geophysical, and geospatial data to support project design, installation, and operations.
You will act as the focal point for all survey-related matters, providing technical leadership and ensuring activities are executed in line with project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of hydrographic, geophysical, and geotechnical survey campaigns
- Define survey scopes of work, technical specifications, and methodologies aligned with project requirements
- Manage and supervise survey contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and HSE standards
- Review and approve survey procedures, reports, and deliverables (e.g. bathymetry, seabed mapping, route surveys)
- Ensure quality control, validation, and integration of survey data into engineering and design processes
- Interface with subsea, pipeline, marine, and installation teams to support project execution
- Identify and mitigate risks related to seabed conditions, survey uncertainties, and marine operations
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling of survey campaigns
- Ensure compliance with international standards and best practices (e.g. IHO, IMCA, ISO)
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and survey personnel
- Reports to: Project Manager (Dredging)
- Works closely with: Project teams, engineering disciplines, construction and interface teams
- External interaction with: EPC contractors, subcontractors, marine operations teams, and technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, Geophysics, Ocean Engineering, or related discipline
- Prior engineering experience, including:
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Experience in offshore construction, subsea pipelines, and marine operations
- Experience managing contractors and third-party vendors across multiple project phases (FEED to start-up preferred)
- Proven experience in project coordination and contractor oversight
- Exposure to large-scale offshore or LNG developments is advantageous
- Middle East project experience is a plus
- Strong technical expertise in hydrographic and geospatial data
- Solid understanding of international standards (IHO, IMCA) and HSE requirements
- Leadership and team coordination capability
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail and data quality
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel offshore and support survey campaigns as required
