About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join an international energy project team based in Paris or Pau, France.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, company standards and project procedures.
This is a 12-month residential assignment, with the position requiring an on-site presence in either Paris or Pau.

About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join an international energy project team based in Paris or Pau, France.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements, ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, company standards and project procedures.
This is a 12-month residential assignment, with the position requiring an on-site presence in either Paris or Pau.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of HSE policies, procedures and standards across project activities.
- Monitor compliance with applicable French and international HSE regulations and project requirements.
- Identify potential HSE risks and contribute to the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
- Participate in HSE risk assessments, audits, inspections and site reviews.
- Support the investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe situations, including follow-up of corrective actions.
- Promote a strong HSE culture and encourage safe working practices across project teams and contractors.
- Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, reports, records and performance indicators.
- Monitor HSE performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide HSE advice and support to project personnel and relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in HSE meetings, reviews and awareness activities.
- Ensure that HSE requirements are properly communicated and understood by all relevant personnel.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions and ensure their effective closure.
- Contribute to the preparation of HSE plans, procedures and other project documentation as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in an HSE role, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, engineering or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of HSE principles, risk management and incident prevention.
- Experience working in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying risks and improving HSE performance.
- Good knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, standards and industry best practices.
- Fluent/professional English is mandatory.
- Willingness to work on a fully on-site basis in either Paris or Pau.
