Job Title: Helper (Site)
Reports to: Production Manager (Site)
Location: Onshore Operations
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Responsible to support the Mainline Firing Line assisting in agreed capacity
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
• Take responsibility for safety of self and others
• Connect earth clamp to crown of pipe
• Internal and External pipe cleaning with power tools (e.g. grinder)
• Cap dressing
• Prep heat and Pipe joints
• Fit Bands
• Stencil
• Handle and receive welding torch
• Clean and maintain welding torch
• Clean mechanised welding bug
• Maintain good station housekeeping
• Assist welder to achieve correct start and stop position during welding
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
• Experience of working in similar environment would be beneficial
• No specific requirements other than good standard of safety and common sense
SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURAL EXPECTATION
• Develops an appropriate culture of team working
• Communicates effectively and articulately at all levels within the welding supervision
• Demonstrates good trouble shooting skills and analytical skills when making decisions
• Works effectively under pressure
• Is risk focused
• Works effectively with other departments and clients assists with development and improves processes/procedures
