The Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Lift Crane Operator to join an offshore vessel operations team. This is a key operational role responsible for the safe and efficient operation and general maintenance of vessel cranes, while also overseeing roustabout activities and supporting the development and training of crew members.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring all lifting operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements and applicable HSE standards.
In addition to crane operations, the Heavy Lift Crane Operator will undertake responsibilities as Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO), supporting the safe coordination of helicopter operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate and maintain the various cranes located on the vessel.
- Carry out lifting, moving and relocating of equipment, containers, pipework, systems, provisions and other materials required for vessel operations.
- Conduct safe loading and offloading operations involving personnel, equipment and supplies from support and supply vessels.
- Move heavy and bulky materials safely throughout the vessel.
- Supervise the safe and efficient activities of roustabout personnel.
- Provide on-the-job training, guidance and development to roustabouts and newly appointed team members, particularly in lifting and slinging activities.
- Maintain effective two-way communication with crew members and vessel management.
- Assist with maintenance activities and equipment upkeep as required.
- Ensure all equipment and lifting operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, company procedures and operational standards.
- Support continuous improvement in HSE performance and operational practices.
- Undertake Helicopter Landing Officer duties in accordance with applicable procedures and aviation requirements.
- Participate in company-approved training and competency programmes, both offshore and onshore.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure a consistently high standard of operational integrity.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Stage III Crane Operator certificate/licence.
- Prior offshore experience, or equivalent experience within a relevant industry.
- Appropriate training and competency certification for the position.
- GCAA-approved Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) training.
- Experience with relevant control-of-work systems and procedures.
- A strong previous safety record.
- Good working knowledge of HSE practices within the offshore or similar industry.
- Experience working within an HSE Management System and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Good computer literacy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary offshore team.
