We are hiring Head of Process Engineering. This position is based in Onshore, Qatar
 
Contract duration: 36 Months
Location: Qatar Onshore
Working Hours/Day – 8-10 Hrs/day
Working Days/Week - 6 days/week
Working Days/Month - 22 days/month
Leave Rotation - 12 weeks on/2 weeks off
 
 
Job Purpose
Responsible for providing process support to MP projects by carrying out process studies as required, maintaining consistency between the start-up philosophies of the different projects, ensuring a smooth transition at handover between the PMT and the operations team, and overseeing the production performance test. Ensures that the Project’s requirements for all process engineering deliverables are fully executed by the engineering Contractor per project schedule.
 
 
Job Context & Major Challenge
This role is responsible for leading all standalone feasibility studies related to flow assurance and process design which includes ability to define scope of work requirements, ability to evaluate competent engineering firms and contractors to meet study objectives.
Major challenges for this role are (1) effectively managing Process Engineering team to ensure feasibility studies are effectively & timely executed (2) providing process support to MP projects as necessary (3) maintaining constructive working relationship with PMTs, engineering contractors and Operations team to ensure delivery of process studies in accordance with project requirements (3) maintaining relationships with stakeholders (e.g. Operations and SHEQ) to ensure alignment of Process Engineering deliverables (4) special focus on feasibility studies which requires proper definition and optimisation including the challenge of securing shareholders on concepts and results.
 
Key Job Accountabilities
Provides Process Engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance, leadership and expertise while supervising and administering Process team design in accordance with project deliverables and approved execution schedule.
Directs the preparation and stewardship of Process Engineering scope of work for feasibility studies, advices and recommends design procedures, processes deliverables and alternative studies, as required, to optimize project cost and schedule.
Maintains close liaison with members of PMT Engineering Teams and alignment with the Engineering Manager on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
Accountable for ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with company Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and company Project Management System (QGPMS).
 
Provide support to PMT in areas related to technical bid evaluations, qualifications and experience of engineering companies; usage of appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software; adherence with all project objectives, requirements, specifications, standards, procedures, execution plans and design verification processes.
 
Assesses and validates engineering Contractor capability in providing all contract documents, progress measurement and reporting and recommends additional technical support to address gaps.
 
Leads the Masters Data Register (MDR) including creation and approval and owns the planning and scheduling of the Process deliverables to enable efficient project execution.
 
Responsible for the Process Engineering schedule and related milestones, provides data (narrative, charts, graphs, change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays) for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
 
Accountable for knowledge of and sharing previous lessons learned, capturing and communicating current lessons learned to support review teams and future projects.
 
 
 
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering
 
Knowledge and/or Experience
10 years’ experience in Process Engineering roles, including 6 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/subcontractors/service/vendor personnel.
Preferable experience in a major LNG Project.
Broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities and utility systems design, construction and operations.
 
Preferable experience with Gas Processing licensor technology (Acid gas Treatment, NGL recovery, LNG liquefaction, Sulfur recovery)
Experience with flow assurance issues on gas/condensate fields (hydrates and corrosion inhibition, transient simulations) and integrated offshore/gas plant start-up
 
Technical and Business Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
