A leading organization in the energy sector is seeking an experienced Head of Planning to lead and oversee all project planning and scheduling activities for major onshore projects.
The role will be responsible for managing project controls planning functions including schedule development, schedule analysis, progress monitoring, risk assessment, recovery planning, and contractor performance evaluation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all planning and scheduling activities across major EPC projects.
  • Manage project schedules, progress reporting, schedule risk analysis, and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and interface teams.
  • Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project planning procedures and requirements.
  • Conduct schedule impact analysis and identify critical project risks.
  • Review contractor progress and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support project management decision-making through accurate planning and reporting.
  • Manage planning deliverables aligned with Project Management Systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Project Controls within EPC Oil & Gas capital projects.
  • Strong expertise in Planning & Scheduling for major projects.
  • Experience managing EPC Lump Sum Contracts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6, Acumen, Primavera Risk Analysis, and related tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with multicultural project teams and large subcontractors.
Preferred Experience
  • LNG / Petrochemical / Onshore Mega Project experience
  • Owner-side or EPC contractor background
  • Strong schedule recovery and project risk management exposure
