Head of Finance & Corporate Affairs - OMAN

A leading investment organisation is currently seeking a Qualified Chartered Accountant for the role of Head of Finance & Corporate Affairs to manage the finances and development of a recent investment in Aviation training, based in OMAN.

The role will be based in Oman for at least 24 months and will then be based out of Sohar.

The successful candidate must have relevant / current Omani based experience within the field of accountancy.

This role does not offer any relocation packages therefore Omani candidates will be best suited however not essential.

The responsibilities will involve:

  • Monitoring and implementing Strategic Business Plans
  • Participate in key decision making
  • Safeguarding company assets
  • Prepare and present financial forecasts
  • Develop finance organisation strategies
  • Evaluate trends and establish productivity
  • Evaluate long term planning and implement new program strategies and action
  • Accurate Analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
  • Report financial results to Board of Directors
  • Strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Develop financial and tax strategies
  • Develop organisational prospects
  • Adhere to full compliance
  • Oversee preparation of month-end & year-end financial statements
  • Review all month-end closing activities
  • Serve as a key point for external auditors
  • Manage the capital and other financing requirements for the aviation investment
  • Manage the execution of projects within the investment
  • Report periodically to Board of Directors on Business performance
  • Execute any other responsibilities as delegated

Must haves:

  • Minimum of 5years experience as a Chartered Accounting within the field of Finance and Accounting
  • Experience in a management role
  • Project Management experience (Desirable)
  • Experience in company start-ups (Desirable)
  • Able to develop company budget and annual financial report
  • Good experience in IT and other corporate support management
