Head of Engineering (Studies)

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering (Studies) to provide engineering leadership and oversight for major engineering studies supporting a large-scale restoration project within the LNG sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating engineering studies, managing engineering deliverables, and ensuring alignment between the Project Management Team, engineering contractors, third-party consultants, Operations, licensors, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering studies, design activities, quality assurance, and technical deliverables in line with project requirements and execution schedules.
• Direct and steward engineering scopes of work and study deliverables required for project execution.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management Teams and Engineering leadership on engineering requirements, objectives, and priorities.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with company policies, standards, project requirements, and applicable project management systems.
• Support technical bid evaluations and assess the qualifications and capabilities of engineering companies.
• Review engineering contractor and third-party consultant capabilities and recommend additional technical support where required.
• Monitor engineering schedules, milestones, progress reports, and recovery plans to address potential delays.
• Support change management activities and engineering recommendations.
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared to support ongoing and future projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
• At least 6 years of demonstrated senior engineering experience on major capital projects within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory, acting leadership, or contractor/service provider oversight experience.
• Experience managing or coordinating engineering contractors, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of engineering studies, project deliverables, progress reporting, scheduling, and change management.
• Experience supporting technical bid evaluations and assessing engineering contractor capabilities.
• Knowledge of Document Control and Information Management processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
