Head of Engineering (Mechanical)

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Engineering (Mechanical) to support a major LNG development project in Qatar.
The successful candidate will lead mechanical engineering activities for static and package equipment, ensuring technical compliance, quality delivery, and alignment with project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mechanical engineering activities for static and package equipment.
• Ensure EPC contractor deliverables comply with project specifications and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve complex mechanical engineering issues.
• Review and monitor engineering design, procurement, and vendor documentation.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and early operations activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Electrical, I&C, Civil, Construction, and Operations.
• Drive schedule adherence, quality assurance, and technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
• At least 6 years within Oil & Gas / LNG projects.
• Previous experience managing EPC contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of static and package equipment systems.
• Experience in major LNG projects is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Expertise Experience with:

• Desalination systems
• Cooling towers
• Steam boilers
• Air cooled condensers (ACC)
• Nitrogen generation systems
• Wastewater treatment
• Chemical injection packages
• Potable water treatment systems
